The Parallel Slack agent monitors the web for the changes your team cares about, posts them in your channels with sources, and answers questions in the thread.
Today we're launching the Parallel Slack agent. Tell `@parallel` what to watch on the web, and it posts in your channel when something changes, with sources. Tag it with a question, and it replies in the thread with a cited answer.
`@parallel` is built for teams that need to keep up with competitors, customers, investors and regulation without leaving Slack or integrating an API. The agent is available today on the Slack Marketplace[Slack Marketplace](https://slack.com/marketplace/A0AP6UAHQ4A).
**Set up a monitor in one sentence.** Tell `@parallel` what to watch and, optionally, how often:
`@parallel` monitor new funding rounds for AI startups, dailyThe agent confirms with a card showing what it will watch and how often. If you don't give a frequency, it checks hourly.
**Get alerts in the channel.** When the monitor detects a relevant change, the agent posts a short message with the headline and the source. The full details are threaded, so the channel stays easy to scan.
**Follow updates that matter to you.** Anyone can hit đź”” on a monitor to get @mentioned when it fires. Hit it again to stop.
**Manage monitors in plain language.** "Show me the active monitors," "make the funding update weekly" and "cancel the pricing monitor" all work.
We've used the agent across Parallel for the past two months, and early-access teams have used it for everything from tracking competitor, customer, and investor activity to watching for deals on products they want to buy. Here are a few monitors to start with:

`@parallel` what did the Fed announce today, and how did markets react?`@parallel` compare pricing for CRM providers**Ask about an alert.** Reply in an alert's thread and the agent already knows which event you mean, so "have they invested in similar startups recently?" works without repeating yourself.
Each thread is its own conversation, so follow-up questions build on earlier answers.
